Abstract783)      PDF (495KB)(686)
Objective To investigate the killing efficacy of several commonly used public health insecticides for the control of millipedes, and to provide scientific evidence for millipede control. Methods The insecticide screening test was performed to determine the toxicity of five insecticides with different insecticidal mechanisms to millipedes. The median lethal dose (LD 50) of 15% beta-cypermethrin·propoxur suspension concentrate (SC) was estimated, followed by simulated filed testing to verify its killing efficacy. Excel 2016 and SPSS 19.0 softwares were used for data analysis. The Chi-squared test was used to compare the knockdown effects of different insecticides on millipedes. Results The insecticide screening test showed that the 100 fold dilutions of 15% beta-cypermethrin·propoxur SC, 12% beta-cypermethrin·chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate (EC), 10% lambda-cyhalothrin wettable powder, 20% propoxur EC, and 10% imidacloprid SC had:median knockdown times (KT 50) being 1.78, 8.55, 43.17, 1.15, and 9.23 min, respectively; times taken to knockdown 90% of millipedes (KT 90) being 2.63, 20.02, 68.83, 2.03, and 22.80 min, respectively; 2-h mortality rates after insecticide application being 76.25%, 56.25%, 73.33%, 56.67%, and 46.67%, respectively; and 24-h mortality rates all being 100%. The 200 fold dilutions of the five insecticides had:KT 50 being 2.08, 23.26, 56.00, 1.49, and 52.78 min, respectively; KT 90 being 3.15, 33.35, 85.68, 2.98, and 79.55 min, respectively; 2-h mortality rates being 65.00%, 47.50%, 68.33%, 40.00%, and 36.67%; and 24-h mortality rates all being 100%. The laboratory toxicity test showed that the LD 50 of 15% beta-cypermethrin·propoxur SC against millipedes was 5.42 mg AI/m 2. The simulated field test showed that the 24-h mortality rates of millipedes with 15% beta-cypermethrin·propoxur SC at 7.5, 15.0, and 30.0 mg AI/m 2 were 98.33%, 100%, and 100%, respectively. Conclusion Among the five commonly used insecticides, 15% beta-cypermethrin·propoxur SC has relatively excellent efficacy in killing millipedes, which provides a reference for insecticide selection to control millipedes in public environment.

Abstract244)      PDF (545KB)(746)
Objective The discharge dynamic models of Gasterophilus spp. larvae were established by fitting the number of larvaeshedding from the equids after taking ivermectin. According to the models, the peaks of larvae discharge were predicted, which could help the collection of fresh maggots. Methods Three domestic horses and three Przewalski's horses were randomly selected and were kept in small enclosures separately. Maggots of each animal was harvested per unit time after taking ivermectin, the average rates of discharge larvae were calculated for both domestic and Przewalski's horses. Quadratic, Compound and Cubic models were used to fit the dynamics of larvae discharge. Results Among the three fitting models, the Cubic models were the best models to fit the discharge rate of the larvae (domestic horses:adjusted R 2=0.837; Przewalski's horses:adjusted R 2=0.940). The regression equations of the dynamic fitting of domestic and Przewalski's horses were: Y d=-1.302 766+0.075 436 t-0.001 177 t 2+0.000 006 t 3 (27.6 ≤ t ≤ 87.9), Y p=-1.178 999+0.071 902 t-0.001 157 t 2+0.000 006 t 3 (25.7 ≤ t ≤ 84.7). According to the regression equations, the peak values of domestic and Przewalski's horses were 49.0 h and 47.1 h. Conclusion The efficacy was not related to the equine species and infection intensity of Gasterophilus spp. larvae. The regression equation quantified the early observations, the conclusion could help to improve the collection efficiency and obtain fresh maggot samples, which laid a foundation for further study.

Abstract291)      PDF (350KB)(816)

To classify the tick specimens in Jiangxi province, the taxonomic principle and method of identified were used in this study. Through identification, the Ixodes ovatus and the I. granulatus were confirmed as two new records in Jiangxi. These records provide essential scientific information for their evolution in Jiangxi province.

Abstract2297)      PDF (297KB)(2003)

【Abstract】 Objective To evaluate common density surveillance methods of rat, mosquito, fly and cockroach. Methods Different surveillance methods were compared from the sides of monitoring species, monitoring instruments, monitoring data, monitoring areas, and monitoring styles. Results There are differences in monitoring species, monitoring instruments, data accuracy and the applicability among different methods. Conclusion The surveillance method should be chosen according to the object of monitoring and practice condition.

Abstract1098)      PDF (146KB)(799)
Objactive To know the status of roaches infection in resident dwelling houses and roaches cognitive level of residents. Methods 452 residents were surveyed with questionnaire. Results The roaches infection rate was 96.02% in resident dwelling houses, the consciousness of residents prevention roach was very intense, and the attitude was active;the prevention of roaches cognitive stayed in a plain level. They wanted to give an integrated cockroaches magagement, but had limited knowhedge on the prevention and control. 37.83% of resident did not know that cockroaches could transmit pathogenies. The main approaches to gaining roach control knowledge were mass media, and there were few from public healthy education. Conclusion The government pay more attention on roaches prevention and control in resident dwelling houses, reinforcing publich healthy education of community, generalization the roach professional provention and control knowledge.

Results 297 rodents were captured, belong to 4 Species 3 genus 2 families and 2 orders. The community structure are: Rattus norvegicus+ Mus musculus+ Suncus murinus+ Rattus flavipectus. The rat density was 3.09% , Rattus norvegicusand Mus musculuswere predominant species. The yearly seasonal fluctuation of the population amount are two peak periods of the population amount in early spring and later summer (March to May and August to October). Conclusion Rattus norvegicusand Mus musculuswill be control as a leading role in Ganzhou Urban Areas.

Abstract963)      PDF (86KB)(767)
Objective:To investigate the killing efficacy of multifunctional insect-killer to housefly in miscellaneous conditions. Methods:By means of the imitative spot test and spot test,in sun-light,additive light source and illusive additives,we studied the killing efficacy of one multifunctional insect-killer(Type A) firstly used and the other(Type B) used for 5 months was studied respectively. Results:The number of housefly killed by the insect-killer was related with density of housefly, the higher the density of housefly, the more the number of housefly killed. At the same time, the killing efficacy was easy affected by the strenght of light, illusive additives and etc.Furthermore, the killing efficacy will decrease after a insect-killer is used continuously for a period. Conclusion:The multifunctional insect-killer,a kind of convenient and pollution-none tool which has excellent killing efficacy to housefly,is a kind of ideal insect-killer to housefly for restaurant, hotel, etc.
